My name is Ben Watson and I work for the Initial Credit Assessment team which basically means that I approve home loans. I love approving home loans! I like knowing that I’ve helped in getting a young couple on their way towards their future.
The most difficult thing would be the balance between keeping the customers happy and making sure we stick within ING policy, ING credit policy, which are fairly strict rules but also trying to make sure the customers are getting what they want.
ING are different I think because they take more of an interest in your career development, it’s one of the main factors in the performance reviews that we do, where we are always asked to consider where our next move might be. I tend to find that the managers all take the time out to learn your name even if the are two or three managers removed from me, so my bosses, bosses, bosses boss, is just as likely to know my name as my boss.
